Rain

The rain is falling down
like daggers outside
the way your eyes
stare into mine
piercing every part
of me that's still
flesh and bone

I'm still sleeping
with the lights on,
the dark scares me
you're gone

When it rains, it pours
that's when I need you
more

When the thunder is
too loud and I can't
drown it out, in
between flashes of
lightning, I hope
you'll find me
Otherwise, darling
I won't make it
out of this storm

Come along inside
leave your shoes
at the door
just hold me
tonight so I'm not
alone anymore

When it rains, it pours
I've never needed you more.
